Turkey Day Fallout
What's up y'all. Hope you had a good Turkey-day, I ate so much so I had to hit the gym today, I've already got my fat suit on for the year so I need to drop some ellbees (that's lbs for you that don't know slang). Had an awesome time at mom and dad's playing vids and doing nothing. Unfortunately in addition to all the turkey I ate tons of licorice so yeah I'm not feeling very fit right now.
Good weekend for "real" football - Dawgs dominated apple cup and Hawks beat the Rams. Unfortunately my fantasy football week wasn't so good - I got my a$$ handed to me by some dork at work but I plan on exacting my revenge in the playoffs but considering the fact he probably can't talk to a woman without giving his credit card, I guess I've already won.
Big shout out to Don and Barb who put on quite the feast for Thanksgiving, that brine method made the bird taste insane! Good stuff, sorry I did not grace you all with my presence at Aunt Linda's but I heard it was off the chain!
Getting ready for a day trip to Orange County tomorrow. We're visting our top client to buy their love...er I mean to meet with them to see how things are going. Then next week I head all the way to South Carolina to meet a potential large client - they send in the closer, AKA me when they need to get the big deals done.
In other news, I hate this refurbished Dell those morons gave me - it's worse than what I had before, I'm going Mac next round. Sorry Bill (Gates).
Lastly, you may have heard on the local news about this scumbag who shot those 4 officers point blank. It's amazing the low life scum that is out there, I hope they find this human waste and put him away forever. If you want to donate, here is the link: http://www.lpig.us/. If you can spare it, I would try to donate something, a lot of these officers had families so try to give if you can.
Sorry to end on a bit of a sour note, but wanted to send a shout out to all my bloggas out there!
Peace!

What's up my bloggas!
Hey there, I think I've blogged more times this week than I have in the last few months. In case you were all wondering I came back and won at the last minute in my Fantasy Football league and the guy I was up against was talking smack all week. Let's just say he now bows in my presence.
Getting ready for another weekend which I hope is filled with some competitive football. Thank god I have fantasy football to keep me interested because I just don't know about my Hawks and the Huskies are still improving, but just can't seem to close out the wins.
I went to my physical therapist today and it was more of an initial consultation. I'm really looking forward to getting on a solid program. I have a better sense now of what types of things I need to stay away from and look forward to getting back in the normal swing of things. A lot of what I was doing were the wrong types of exercises and things that were just bad for my back.
Holly is doing well, we are hoping to get her website up soon. When it's ready I will send out a link to everyone. In case you don't know she is doing interior design and she is a frickin Picasso with design so if anyone is looking for a home makeover...I know shameless plug.
Speaking of plugs, or should I say...pugs, Coop is also doing well although he's having some skin irritation issues - what can I say he's just a sensative guy.
Before I go, I hope everyone called any military veterans they know yesterday. I think more than ever we need to make sure we support our troops. They are the true heroes and lay it on the line every day and many still get the short end of the stick when they come back and it's just not right. I know Holly and I ran into some military folks after the Hawks game and I proudly shook their hands - they are the best so a huge thanks to all those in the military!
Also, happy belated b-day Jim, sorry when I called yesterday I totally spaced it but we had a good chat tonight. I'm hoping I end up taking that trip to SC so we'll definitely hang out.
I have to run, I think I'm burning dinner!

What up!
Huskies lost this Sat and it was a heart-breaking loss. Hawks came back to beat the lowly Lions and I'm in a dogfight for my Fantasy Football life!

It's November Baby!
Hey gang! How's it going, it's crazy how it's getting so dark so soon. I found myself nodding off the other day and it was only 6:30!
I went in to the back doctor and I was able to avoid the cortisone shot but the plan is to start going to a Physical Therapist. I'm looking forward to it and I think I've been able to get a better sense of what I need to do or better yet not do. The doc was able to diagnose me pretty quick and not the physical part, but rather the pattern of behavior that was contributing to my back pain. Basically, it's really a matter of not doing certain exercises in the gym and avoiding things that can contort or twist my back - it sucks getting old. It's especially hard considering I was such a superior athlete back in the glory days (ask Jimmy he knows).
I just finished Ratchet and Clank and the game is awesome! I'm looking forward to getting either Demon's Souls or Dragon's Origins - I hear it makes WOW look like kids play (sorry mom, but it's true). This is the time of year when the really sweet games come out and combined with it getting dark at 4:30 it's game on baby!
I'm looking forward to hopefully a successful football weekend - the Huskies play tomorrow and Holl and I are going to the Hawks game - Birds of Prey!!! I've been kicking some "a" in my fantasy league too so that's been lots of fun.
In other local news, our state passed Ref 71 (allows same sex couples to have the same rights married folks have excluding marriage) which of course has the christians in a tizzy which is usually not a difficult thing to do. Basically anything that relates to living in the 21st century upsets them. Apparently giving similar rights to a group of people who make up less than 1% our entire population is somehow a threat to traditional marriage. Considering 50% of hetero's get divorced, maybe they should focus their efforts elsewhere. For instance, my 401K is down 50% and my home has lost 20% of it's value over the last year and I think the Devil has something to do with it, or maybe Bank of America (perhaps they are one in the same?).
I almost forgot to mention, Holly and I will have some pics to post from Halloween last week. I was a Gladiator and she was a Hot Vampire. The night is still fuzzy although I think I lost some blood because I was feeling woozy. The last thing I remember was Holly saying she was thirsty...

GO DAWGS!!
Incredible win by the Huskies tonight, I believe I suffered a mild heart attack, we need to keep the mojo going for the Hawks!

Another Tough Weekend...
of football. First my Huskies lose a heartbreaker and the Hawks got owned by Indy although I didn't think that was a big surprise. At least my fantasy football team looks good, although it's a bye week for me which means I get no credit.
There are some awesome games coming out, I just put deposits on Brutal Legend and Uncharted 2. Unfortunately they both come out at the same time so I'll have to pick one to roll with because I can't play two games at once.
I think I may have stumbled upon something new to help my back - Nintendo Wii - I do the yoga and it's seems to be helping so I just need to stick with it.
In other exciting news, Sarah Palin is coming out with a book for her memoirs, I hear they're going to translate it into English - you betcha! (Wink)
Peace!

FOOOOOOOTBAAAAAAALLLL!
Hello Folks,
Well it's almost officially football season (starts tomorrow) and I can't wait! I finally played Fantasy Football this year so it was fun to do something with another group of guys who have absolutely no idea how to pleasure a woman (sorry mom, that applies to your WoW crowd too).
Actually, we had our draft last Friday with some folks from work and it was a lot of fun, I'm actually looking forward to seeing how things turn out. Although I have to admit, I feel dirty because I chose Ben (I'm a former male model) Roethlisberger and if you don't know he plays for the Steelers which any self respecting Seahawk fan hates automatically.
The UW football team lost but looked great against a solid LSU team last weekend - Go Dawgs!
Other than football, not much else going on although I have a trip to Las Vegas next week for a conference and then Holl and I head down to LA for my buddy Hunt's wedding. I've also had my back flare up again so that's been no fun but prednisone and vicodin have come to the rescue.
Mom - I was able to get my wireless router working (yes, password protected) so I am now offically wireless. Now if my computer didnt weigh 200 lbs it would be worth toting around. But I really got it so I could play Madden '10 online with "Big Baby" aka Jimmy although I need to get the headset bro.
Over the Labor Day weekend, I also played two killer games for the PS3: Batman Arkham Asylum and Red Faction: Guerilla which were awesome!
I also wanted to leave you with a Confucius saying: "House without toliet is uncanny"
Have a great week everyone!

Hawks Training Camp
Yeah baby, it's football season. I was at my new church this Sunday, also known as Seahawks training camp, that's my sanctuary! Anyway, I'm pumped for this year, it was reall great to get up close and see the players, enjoy the pics. By the way, blogger blows, I don't know why the text keeps resetting after I change it so the comments and pictures don't flow well but I've tried 4 X to get it right and I'm about to Hulk Smash this computer so just figure it out.
Here's our stud TE, John Carleson - yes he's tall and a former hoops star which is why he has such great hands. He's going to have a big year.

Yeah Baby, there he is our first round pic, Aaron Curry!!!

No, that's not Professor X from X-Men, it's our QB Matt Hasselbeck!

This was the entrace to training camp - yes I had goosebumps!
Here's Nate Burleson sporting a Bro-Hawk! He looked good and fully recovered from knee surgery - go Nate!
Curry again...
Here's that Hasselbeck dude again. Also, if you notice the guy in the background, that's my buddy Kenny who is on the training staff for the Hawks. You will notice his years of being a flagger for the local road construction crew have come in handy, you should see him with a bow staff!

WAAAASSSSUUUUP!
Hey gang!
Wow, I just realized it's been since the end of April since I've blogged, sorry folks!
I would recommend seeing Gran Torino, Holly and I just watched that yesterday and it was awesome. We saw Angels & Demons tonight which was great but it had been so long since I read the book it didn't have the same impact as DaVinci Code. I'm also looking forward to the new Transformers movie coming out.
Work has been great and Holly, me and Coop are doing well and I'm digging this weather! We've definitely been enjoying the TT baby.
Seahawks mini-camps are underway and I'm pumped for this upcoming season although after this week, basically there is no football again until August - NOOOOOOO!
Holly and I are going to be planning our DC trip (hopefully) this weekend so we're psyched for that, Jim if you are reading this we are staying with you. We're kicking mom and dad out!
For the Office fans, I would google "Office that's what she said" and I think it's the second link but it's every "that's what she said" in chronological order and it's awesome.
Mom and Dad - Happy Anniversary!

Lots to catch up on...
Hey gang, it's been forever so I thought I'd finally catch everyone up on just what the heck has been going on. Well first off, last weekend was the NFL Draft and it was frickin' awesome!!! Our first round draft choice was Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry...say hi Aaron and welcome to Seattle:

As you can see, I was very upset by this pick, Holly even captured the moment:

And here are a couple of more pics where I expressed my anger :)

Ok, now on to the next topic. Last week I had a business trip to Chicago, I absolutely love Chi-town and I had a great time. I also had a chance to have some free time and take some cool pics:
Here is the iconic Michigan Mile sign where they have TONS of shopping, good thing Holly didn't join me on this trip!

And here is a tribute to 'Da Coach'

They had these really cool buildings and here is a couple of pics outside of one of the churches. I think it was a Catholic church because there were a bunch of young boys hanging around - hey oh! You can't help but appreciate the architecture and I thought these blue trees were really cool.

How about this pic, isn't it cool? The building on the right is the Trump Hotel & Towers - I think the design was called a "comb over". It was a really incredible building and I just loved this shot I got with the clouds reflecting off the building...very impressive.

This next shot was the Chicago Theater and if you pay attention to the Billboard you will notice it talks about the "Speaker Series". Later that night I attended an event with Chris Matthews, Arianna Huffington, Paul Begala, and Tucker Carlson. It was awesome!! It was great to see them all live since I watch them often on TV. The conversation was very entertaining, smart, and insightful... bascially the exact opposite of watching Sean Hannity.
And finally what would a trip be without a trip to historic Wrigley Field. It was a completely different experience than Safeco, very historic and "old school". It was a great time and how 'bout them seats!

I had to throw in a gratuitous pic of Coop:
And finally, I just wanted to let everyone know my blood pressure is under control and all of my tests came back clear, I'm in good health!!
Have a great rest of the week.

Sickness watch...
Well I'm happy to say that I'm actually getting a little bit better which is great. It's been more frustrating than anything else being sick because I haven't been able to hit the gym or really do any activity that helps my psyche. I think I'm going to try to hit the gym tomorrow and we'll see how that goes. My goal is to drop about 20-25 lbs in the next few months so I need to up my cardio and just watch what I eat, I'm sure I can do it. Ideally I'd like to get somewhere around 185-190 which I would be happy with but it's going to take some work.
Anyway, while I was sick I was able to play Resident Evil 5 which is the sickest game ever!!!!! I've finished it but now I'm trying to upgrade all my weapons and the game is just frickin awesome, I love it.
I pushed back my doctor's appt for next Tues which is basically a consultation with a cardiologist to have a "wellpersons" physical. I've just been feeling so cruddy, I thought it would be silly to sit through a consultation while I'm hacking away.
I'm out y'all!

Still sick...
Well, after 5 days of anti-biotics I now have a nagging cough and head cold so I've now been sick for a week and a half. Ugh, I've been drinking so much water I'm peeing every 5 minutes like some old geezer.
Anyway, Resident Evil 5 drops this Friday and I can't wait!!!! Also, I just finished Killzone 2 which is one of the best FPS (first person shooters) ever! I'm just glad I've got solid games to play while I'm out sick from work... Oh wait, I've still been working too.

Sinus Infection...uuugh
So I went to the doc today because I knew I was getting a sinus infection and the doc confirmed what I already knew what was coming. As I like to say, seen that movie and I know how it ends...
He also is sending me to see a Physiatrist (sp?) for my back. I had an MRI back in OCT and I have degenerating discs in my low back. Apparently what this Dr does is bascially evaluate where you are at and then make a program geared toward recovery. I've already left a message for them which is huge step for me as I typically have been bad about helping myself.
I'm also going to take a "wellness" physical which is basically a physical but without Mr. "Magic Finger". Basically they just do some bloodwork and I figure it's been so long so why not - although I haven't called yet...but I will!
My blood pressure has also been a little high the last couple of times I went in and I told them my sister dealt w/that so it is in my family. I would like to drop about 20 or so lbs - thanks mom for posting that picture on your blog which I now use for motivation. I actually lift weights every day, but I'm bad about cardio and I like to drink the hoppy beer so I just have to cut back.
That's it I'm out, I have to go apologize to Rush Limbaugh
PEACE!

Housh-yo-Mama!!!!!!
Ok, I am back ladies and gents and I come with good news, the Hawks have signed TJ. Housh.... it's funner to say Hous-yo-mama. I'm totally pumped and can't wait for football to start. Also, the Dawgs are rocking the top of the Pac-10 and it's fun to get excited about Seattle sports again.
What else is going on, well our country is drowing into the abyss and I hear the pundits saying this isn't the bottom yet? Wow, these are certainly tough times, fortunately it doesn't really appear to be affecting people as much as everywhere we go it's crowded with people and restaurants are full so at least people seem to be spending money. I think we will pull through as we always do, but man the dow is like at 7,000 which is just nuts so if you have some dough I would be buying stock right now. Unfortunately all of our money will be going to Uncle Sam for taxes - boo hoo...
Although I do get a kick out of how the republicans are all of a suddenly fiscally responsible, I mean are you kidding me, these are the same group that gave Georgie Boy carte blanche, and how about that performance by Bobby Jindal. If the future of your party consists of Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, Rush "Pill-Popper" Limbaugh, and Bobby Jindal then you are in trouble - I can just see Barry Goldwater spinning in his grave. But just because I make fun of the "Real America" crowd, don't think for a second I'm at all happy with the Liberal agenda either, I mean I shouldn't have to help people that don't help themselves. I think we'll just have to wait to see what the President's administration will do so I'm cautiously optomistic.
In other news, Holly and I looking to add a new car to our family, she finally convinced me to get a bigger car so we are looking to get the BMW X3 (2006) and they had some really good deals, we just can't find any.
Also, you should sign up for Shockwave or Big Fish Games, they are tons of fun.
I'm out, peace!

WAAAAHHHHH!!!
Ok, well it's official, the football season is now officially over. The Steelers won again so I now have to hear from even more unattractive Steelers fans how they got another one for the other hand. Good for you and I could care less. I was actually glad to see Arizona lose in a way because historically that should help the Hawks chances next year.
At least now I can look forward to the draft and combine and hopefully lead a healthier lifestyle without the stress of football now. Plus it's staying lighter longer so things are looking up!
Have a good week!

Show Me Your Inagural Balls!
First of all, I would like to apologize to you Grandma in advance for the title, but I just couldn't help it, plus Holly insisted on it. And again, a very belated Happy Birthday to you.
Big (historic) day today, we officially welcomed our 44th president into the White House, what a show! I've been catching the highlights, it sort of like a political version of SportsCenter. Anyway, I'm pumped for the new regime, it's great to finally have a "cool" president where English is not a second language and decisions are not made by "goin with yer gut" and "prayin 'bout stuff". It's also nice to see some youth, style, and an actual ability to dance w/out looking like some stiff cardboard cutout. Although I have to ask, what is up with all of these Inagural Balls? Barack and Michelle had to hit like 10 or 12 of these tonight, and I thought America didn't torture?
Anyway, I'm just glad to see George hit the road to his new place of residence (which I may add didn't allow non-whites until 2000...yep I said 2000 folks - this was also confirmed by a co-worker who is in Dallas). I think that village is glad to welcome back it's idiot. I guess he also left a note on the desk for Obama with the #44 on the folder, I bet it was a smiley face written in crayon, but we'll never know. Seriously, I wish Georgie boy well, and whatever you do, just stay in Texas.
So in other news, work is still pretty hectic, I have to fly out to NY next week to discuss a big deal with a very large, strategic partner. It will be a lot of work, but I'm excited about the opportunity. I also got a call from my doctor's office about an MRI I had done on my low back in Oct. The voicemail said that I have multiple degenerative discs in my low back, BUT it was better than the last MRI I had, hey thanks Doc! So I don't know how I'm supposed to take that as good or bad news, but I will be following up soon.
As an additional bonus tonight, our washer started leaking and I don't know why it did, but I managed to bonk my head trying to take the accordian door off and somehow managed to also break the handle off the door - you can image the number of expletives that left my mouth. Oh, and as an added bonus the geniuses that built this place put the smoke alarm directly under the washing machine so I had to pull it out because it was leaking all over and it wouldn't stop beeping (That's what she said!)
That's it folks, I'm out! Yes We Can!

Don't worry I'm not Dead...
Wow, it's been forever since I posted so I would like to apologize but really it's all been about trying to get back in the swing of things. Anyway, I just wanted to check in with everybody and I can't wait, only 3 more days before we kick that retard out of the White House!
Hugs,
