Wednesday Night Thoughts
Hey gang! So I haven't really updated anyone on the job front so I thought I'd take a few minutes to do that. So today I finished Day #2 and it's been really great so far. As with any new job, my head is spinning a bit just because all of the information is so new and there is a natural learning curve. It's located closer to home so I'm really enjoying that and not having to cross the bridge into Seattle. Over the Memorial Day weekend Holly and I saw the new Indiana Jones movie. I'm a big fan of the series and I thought it was great. I don't know if I would necessarily say it was better than the other three, but it was definitely entertaining.
Oh and by the way in my last blog I mentioned I hoped it wouldn't rain after I washed my cars and it did! I think one of you was dancing!
Peace out,
J

Memorial Day
So today is an important day for two reasons, one it is the last day of my six week vacation, and second and most important it is Memorial Day to remember our lost veterans. I would like to personally recognize and give thanks to all of our fallen soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice because it's really them and their families that end up paying the price for war. I've actually watched several documentaries and it's really heartbreaking to hear about these "kids" and yes they are kids who have shot off arms and legs, burt faces, mental problems, etc. Anyway, I just want to put it on record that we appreciate their service and hopefully we can get our men and women out of harms way soon.
On a lighter note, Holly and I had a relatively quiet day today. It started with McAwesomes and mac and cheese for lunch. In case you were wondering, no we don't have the diet of six year old kids, we just felt like eating bad this weekend. I also managed to wash the cars today so I hope it doesn't rain at least for one day next week although I probably just jinxed it. And tomorrow I officially start my new job, woohoo!!
Now if you'll excuse me we are having pizza for dinner and then jello pudding snacks for dessert!

Jay-Ohh-Bee
In case the title of this blog threw you off, it spells J-O-B. I received my offer letter yesterday (Fri) so I'm now offically employed, woo hoo! They actually agreed to all my (demands) requests so I feel really good and Holly and I are very happy. Ok, now to random thoughts for the week:
*The Office finale kicked "a"
*All presidential pastors are batsh*t crazy
*I still haven't bought Wii Fitness
*Seattle sports really suck right now - go Hawks!
*Get outside, it's a beautiful day!
Love you all, see you later.

Job Update
Hey everyone, this post will be short but sweet but thought I'd update you on the job hunt. I just heard this morning that my offer letter is going to be approved this afternoon and I should have it by tomorrow AM to sign and it sounds like they were agreeable to my (demands) requests for a few changes. So Holly and I will be relieved once I get that done because it's almost going on two months now.
Lastly, a big shout out to David Cook who won American Idol last night - you go rocker boy!

Coop Pics
Okay in my last blog I posted earlier today, I talked about these cute pics of Coop and I thought Holly had the camera but it was sitting on our table so here are the pics. So I know it looks like he's just resting on his toy, but it's actually in his mouth. It's really cute and he does this with different toys so we thought we'd share. So this one is when he was awake...
...and now when he is asleep, aahhh

Later folks!
Later folks!

Job update and random thoughts
Hey gang, so I wanted to update you on the job stuff. I just spoke with my future boss this morning and he submittted the formal offer letter for the execs to review and approve. So things are moving forward, I just need to wait and see if it all gets approved and hopefully it will. He reiterated how excited they are to have me join and appreciated my patience. So it's not a scenario that the deal would unwind, rather it's just part of the process and I just need to make sure the offer makes me feel good about everything. I also wanted to say I love my pop, he's basically called me every day for the last few days checking in to get a job status so dad if you are reading this, you will be the first to know:)
As you all know I'm a huge Seahawks fan and we got another bit of bad news earlier this week, our 3 time pro-bowl, team captain (Lofa Tatupu) was hit with a DUI last Sat so I was totally bummed but I think it will be a minor blip but still it's troubling b/c our team is known to be full of "character" guys. It's been a bit of a newsworthly offseason but most of it negative so I hope my boys get their stuff together. The oddest part about the story was he was pulled over in a Hyundia Accent - dude, you just signed a $42 million dollar contract!

I wanted to submit a picture I have of Cooper that shows him sleeping with one of his toys in his mouth but Holly has the camera so it will have to wait until the next blog. It's really cute so stay tuned.
Lastly, I wanted to give a parting shot to our president who said yesterday in honor of our fallen soldiers and their families he is going to make a huge sacrifice by...wait for it...are you still waiting...by giving up golf! Thanks George for your big sacrifice, what a guy! I'm sure that makes those families feel much better. Seriously is it January yet? On a brighter note, I hear it's going to be an awesome weather weekend so enjoy!!

Happy Mudda's Day
In case you were wondering I was channeling the Sopranos when I was thinking of the title for this blog. So in proper english in case you missed it, Happy Mother's day. Holly and I called my mom earlier today with a sort of song hybrid with happy b-day. I wouldn't exactly say it was good but it's the thought that counts. Anyway, I just wanted to give a shout out to the moms out there. It's the hardest job with no pay!
On a different note, the new job is pretty much wrapped up, we're just finalizing some numbers so that should happen tomorrow or by Tues. Needless to say we are very happy, I got the job that I wanted and Holly's happy because my 5 week vacation has come to an end. Oh, plus she gets to buy shoes and do her hair now so I guess it's a win-win. That's it, short and sweet tonight.
Take care, J&H&C

The word of the day is: J-O-B
Hello friends and family how are we all doing? Well, I got a bit of (good) news today from the job prospect that I was interested in. Nothing is official just yet, however they want me to come in tomorrow to pretty much try to work out an offer. I'm so pumped!! I spoke with Paul who runs the group I will work in and we discussed a few numbers and we are definitely moving forward, I just need to see if we can make the numbers work. Basically the job is a bit of a step back both in general responsibility and paycheck, but the payoff will come sometime in the immediate future as my goal would be to eventually run the acct mgmt team. In speaking with friends and past colleagues some have taken this approach and it's really paid off. I think this will happen for me because the job I left while paid well, I was not happy and it was just a job. I see this opportunity as something I can get excited about and will be a tremendous challenge at the same time. So I'm willing to sort of take the hit now in the short term, but the payoff will come later. So tomorrow I will know for sure so stay tuned for the details. Thanks again for all the encouragement and well wishes and talk to you soon.

Happy Friday
Hello everyone, TGIF! Usually I would love saying that at the end of a tough work week, but being unemployed pretty much every day is Friday :) Sorry it's been a while but I do have a few things to talk about so I figure I'd start on the job front.
Yesterday I had my second interview with a company called Intelius (http://www.intelius.com/) which is based in Bellevue and does background checks for employers. It's a startup company that is relatively small, I think around 100 employees and they have filed to go public so there's a lot of upside if all goes well - $$. They are looking for someone to help them build and create an account management team so the opportunity is tremendous and I'm really excited about it. I actually spent all day there yesterday meeting with the team and some of their execs. A friend of mine works there and he has helped put in a good word and the feedback from everyone there has been positive. Therefore I know that they want me but nothing is official just yet. I'll probably know more by Mon or Tues of next week so I'll be sure to blog about it when I know more but things are definitely looking good!
In other news, I've been playing GTA IV (Grand Theft Auto) which is a very controversial video game which kicks "A". I know that my momma doesn't like it, but like I told her, "Hey, if you do things in real life that you do in a video game you had problems long before you played the game." It's not like I'm going out eating mushrooms in the hopes I'll grow bigger (that was a Mario reference in case you didn't get it). GTA is obviously for adults and in my opinion it's a fun game so I'll leave it at that. However, I felt that I need to even myself out, a kind of heaven and hell if you will so I decided to buy Mario Kart for the Wii. That game is also a lot of fun but it's kind of funny to be playing a kids game really and the next thing you know you're blowing up police cars.
Today is also the first day of Seahawks mini-camp - GO HAWKS!!! I'm so pumped, I can't wait for the season to start. I'm still disappointed for having to give up my season tix but I'll definitely be going to games this year.
That's it, I have to get the house picked up and BTW it's our 4 year wedding anniversary on Sunday!
See ya, J&H&C
