Movies, Mints, and Pugs

Hello everyone. Well since it was Oscar night tonight I thought it would be appropriate to start off by talking about movies. Holly and I have watched quite a few recently so I thought I would share some of them with you and some general thoughts on each one. Below I've listed each movie with some general comments. I would say generally they are all good so I certainly would recommend them. Okay here goes...

Gone Baby Gone - really good movie with good actors and how can you go wrong with Morgan Freeman. It's one of those you watch until the end and it was really good. The story has a lot of twists and turns and is really well acted.

Michael Clayton - Stars George Clooney and some other good actors. Well acted and good story and another one you need to watch until the end.

Atonement - Good story, nice cinematography but total chick flick!!

We Own the Night - total guys movie and really entertaining, worth checking out. Pretty good story too, was set in the late 80s and has some really good actors.

For the Bible Tells Me So (Documentary) - this was a really moving and emotional documentary that basically talks about homosexuality and the Bible and includes interviews of several families affected by it. It had some really interesting information that I was not aware of such as the definition of abomination during that time in that culture (for example, eating rabbit meat was seen as an abomination). The stories were really touching and I guarantee you will get emotional watching them.

On to the second topic, Pugs. Last weekend we went to a Pug meet up. We recently joined the club so they have these events usually every other weekend. The great thing is the place is really close and it's a lot of fun. I should also mention that our boy decided it would be a good idea to pee on a girl that was on the ground, way to go Coop!!

Lastly, I wanted to show a picture of a can of mints that my Mamma-in-Law gave me (Thanks Barb!) that I thought were fantastic. I think if anything the cover definitely shows what Bush was all about: What he SAID he cared about (religion) and what he REALLY cared about (money). I just thought it was really funny and thought I'd share it and I'm so glad that in the next several months he'll be back on the ranch where he belongs.

Happy V-Day, well almost

What's up everybody. Well tomorrow is valentine's day and that means hearts, flowers, choclates, and in some cases yet another reason to argue about where to eat. Holly and I are going to watch the movie, Atonement which I am so pumped for (insert sarcasm here) but I love her and she wants to see it and that's the kind of stuff you do for people you love. Anyway, I hope all of you have a good time tomorrow and have a great Valentine's day.

Super Tuesday and Much Love to Zoe

Hey, I know that people say you should never talk politics or religion with people but it's my blog so I don't really care. I think in the spirit of Super Tuesday though it would be fair to address our current political climate. I am just glad that I am here to witness the real possiblity that a black man or a woman could potentially be the next president of the United States. I think we are certainly due for a change as I think the Duke and Dutchess or Hazzard County should be back on the ranch where they belong. On that note, I know that for myself I have not fully endorsed a candidate, but I will hint that as of late I have had a certain fondness for chocolate!
Anyway, I just thought maybe that would spark some interesting debate and I'm generally just curious what other people think. Either way I think this is a pretty exciting time for our country and I hope everyone gets out there to vote.

On the homefront, not really a whole lot going on at the moment. Holly's been working really hard and last weekend (with thanks to my mom) we starting working on Holly's new website (www.zinterdesign.com) which is really exciting although we have a lot more work to do. I'm very lucky to have such a cool mom who is willing to help out and mom don't worry Holly and I are thinking of a really nice "thank you" once we get close to getting it completed.

In closing, I wanted to again offer our deepest sympathies to Jimmy and Shannon who recently and too suddently lost their dog Zoe due to sudden illness and are no doubt going through a difficult time. I know that my heart sank and I cried because she was such a beautiful dog and a wonderful companion for them and I have my own fond memories of her. I know that all of us have pets and they play such a huge part of our daily lives so be sure to love them and hug them every day because you never know when they could be suddenly taken away.
